You need your stove's model number to order a custom-fit liner. Here is where to find it for every major brand, plus tips for reading worn or faded labels.
Where is the model number label?
Every appliance manufacturer is required to include a rating plate with the model number, serial number, and electrical specifications. The location varies by brand and stove type, but there are only a few places to check.
Gas ranges
- Inside the oven door frame. Open the oven door and look at the left or right side of the frame. This is the most common location for Frigidaire, GE, Whirlpool, and Maytag.
- Behind the rear panel. Pull the stove out from the wall a few inches and look at the back panel. Samsung and LG models often put the label here.
- Under the cooktop lid. Some models have a lift-up cooktop. The label is on the chassis underneath.
Electric ranges
- Inside the oven door frame (same as gas).
- On the back of the control panel. You may need to look behind the rear of the unit.
- Underneath the lift-up cooktop (for coil-type electric ranges).
Induction and smooth-top cooktops
- Underneath the unit. Built-in cooktops typically have the label on the bottom of the unit. You may need to open the cabinet below to see it.
- On the side of the unit (for slide-in models).
Brand-by-brand quick reference
| Brand | Most Common Location | Example Format |
|---|---|---|
| Frigidaire | Inside oven door frame (left) | FGGH3047VF |
| GE / GE Profile | Inside oven door frame | PGS930, JGB735 |
| LG | Inside oven door or back panel | LRG3194ST |
| Samsung | Back panel or oven door frame | NX58H5600SS |
| Whirlpool | Inside oven door frame | WFG505M0BS |
| Maytag | Inside oven door frame | MGR6600FW |
| KitchenAid | Inside oven door frame | KFGG500ESS |
What if the label is worn or missing?
- Check your purchase receipt or warranty card. The model number is usually printed on both.
- Search your email. If you bought the stove online, the order confirmation email will have the model number.
- Look up the serial number. If only the serial number is visible, go to the manufacturer's website and use their serial number lookup tool to find the model.
- Take a photo and contact us. If you can see any part of the label, send us a photo at our contact page and we can help identify your model.
Model number vs serial number
Do not confuse the two. The model number identifies the product design (for example, all Frigidaire FGGH3047VF stoves have the same layout). The serial number is unique to your individual unit (used for warranty claims). You need the model number, not the serial number, to order a custom-fit liner.
